Seated at the confluence of the Ohio and Muskingum Rivers Marietta is central to six different trail systems with over 200 miles of mountain bike & hiking trails in a 45-minute radius of the downtown area.

Over the course of the last decade, local volunteers have built and maintained Marietta City’s own mountain biking trails which now total 30+ miles of single-track. With scenic farms, hilly wooded landscapes, and nicely paved roads, Washington County boasts some of the most scenic road riding in the state.

During the month of August, the Rivers, Trails, and Ales Festival (RTA Fest), a grass-roots outdoor enthusiast festival, takes center stage in Marietta. The RTA Fest is dedicated to celebrating active lifestyles and showcasing the beauty of our region’s outdoor activities, all while supporting Southeast Ohio’s local economy.

The RTA Fest is designed to include activities for people of all ages, backgrounds, and fitness levels and opens-up one’s viewpoint on the wealth of activities that are available locally. The festival highlights Marietta’s easily-accessible outdoor activities and charming downtown commercial district together in one event-filled package.

Fun Packed Month at Marietta with Activities Galore
Some of the most popular events in Marietta include activities such as outdoor Yoga classes, Hiking the Broughton trails, a Gnome Adventure Hike, Mountain and Road group rides, Family rides, Night rides, Beer dinners, group Kayaking paddles, Bike Rodeo, Tai Chi, and musical entertainment! Spring is in the air and our thoughts of fresh produce and flowers start to come to mind. The River City Farmer’s Market (RCFM) in Marietta showcases everything good—from home-grown—to hand-made, nothing says "small town Ohio" like a stellar Farmers Market!

Just two blocks (walking distance) from the historical Lafayette hotel, on Butler Street between Second and Third Streets, is a treasure trove of tasty goodies and hand-made goods every Saturday morning.
